Reading and Living

One of the greatest lessons I learned this year, as I look back at what I did last year, is that reading as many books as I can doesn’t necessarily lead to a better life or more knowledge, unless I read them sincerely and properly. No matter how much I read, if I don’t dive deeper into the material, it becomes useless to me and just another meaningless thing I do. In life, speed doesn’t always make the greatest impact—what really matters is sincerity.
I realized this when I saw how people are contributing to the work of Sir Sree Krishna Seelam. A lot of people are involved in the journey of publishing the "Misunderstood" book and pushing for other causes. It made me see how sincerity toward a purpose can create harmony and drive things forward.
I was inspired by my experience, but I haven't always acted on the aspirations I feel. I sometimes end up taking the easier route—mindlessly scrolling online—without even realizing how hard it is to stop. I’ve tried many times to quit this habit, but I still lack enough discipline and awareness of my actions. I lack intention in what I do.
So, screw it. From now on, I’ll start by writing down my ideas and tasks for the day on my Kindle. This will help me get my thoughts out and stop the endless dilemma of wondering, “What should I do today?” I have plenty to do, but I forget because I lack the desire to act on them.
I will write on my Kindle and avoid social media on my computer. This computer is for productivity, not entertainment! And most importantly, I need to declutter my mind and focus on what needs to be done, not get lost in bits of information that drain my energy.
Again, Elly, start small for now. Let’s figure this out—otherwise, we won’t reach the point we want to be at.
Do it sincrely!
