Three Challenges Testing My Patience Today
Making Coconut Oil, Dealing with My Sister, and Resolving Mac Issues
"Learning patience can be a difficult experience, but once conquered, you will find life is easier." Catherine Pulsifer
Afternoon - Perfecting Coconut Oil Making at Home
Today, after my morning cycling session, I massaged my hair with virgin coconut oil. I ground 3 whole dried coconut meats and extracted the milk, then refrigerated it to separate the oil and water for faster extraction.
My sister was excited about the separation process. Even after refrigeration, it took more than 2 hours and still wasn't fully hardened. Impatient, after editing a video I immediately did cooking—separating the curds and the oil. It was a slow and patient process, requiring low heat, but it turned out to be the best virgin coconut oil I've made so far—crystal clear, not cloudy or dirty.
This process helped me become more patient and appreciate the natural product-making process. My hair will truly enjoy it.
6:28 PM - Forgotten Password
This afternoon, my sister changed the password on my old phone where I take my daily selfies and forgot it. She went crazy trying to remember and guess the passcode until the phone paused password input for what felt like 2 minutes—a very long pause. I asked her what the password was; she said it ended with the letter 'y'. Why, God, why? I thought about backing up my daily challenge: finding free software to unlock the phone (though nothing is free). I was thinking I might have to spend money because of my sister's impulsiveness.
After two hours of her wild guesses and remembering her magic word lock, she said, "Aha! I remembered: my favorite color, yellow!" Wow, little kids. A lot of trash talk before finally revealing her favorite color was insane. I was worried about missing my daily selfie, but she cracked the code before 8 PM. We warned her not to access the phone again.
Reflecting on what happened, I resisted bursting out. I was worried missing another day of the challenge, but I managed to restrain myself from tantrums or overreacting. My sister really teaches me self-control—she's the one who tests my patience.
8:28 PM - Unable to Connect Bluetooth Keyboard
After resolving the password issue, I opened my Mac to start working on this article, but to my dismay, my keyboard wasn't working. I couldn't type in the password. Then it dawned on me that I had turned off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to conserve power while the device was in sleep mode—a silly decision, in hindsight. I spent nearly two hours trying every workaround imaginable to reconnect the Bluetooth, but none of the tutorials were helpful. The only solution was to use a wired keyboard to log in.
Frantically searching for my old keyboard, which I was sure I hadn't thrown away, I scoured every corner of the house. To my surprise and relief, I found it under my bed—a forgotten treasure! Exhausted and almost ready to give up, the old wired keyboard saved the day. Sometimes, a Bluetooth keyboard is just not reliable. Lesson learned: never turn off Bluetooth if you rely on Bluetooth devices. Phew! I almost ended up ruining my computer.
This series of events from personal experimentations, to my sister to my devices patientce will be tested really anytime and anywhere, much needed to do is just to stay calm and never over react because after things resolve or not you will regret what youve done impulsively
